Default Update on the donations for Frank's brick/bench at the museum

Well Im very happy to share with you that this forum along with other outside donations have collected $5600 dollars towards Frank's memorial at the museum. As most of you know we had the intentions of getting Frank a 24 x 24 brick and we exceeded that greatly with the generous donation by one of our own forum members Jaime Recabo (Z06C6R/Z06C5R).... So we have reserved a granite memorial bench for Frank as well as a meduim sized brick (12 X 12) so we will have both..this is so much more than I expected.... it says alot for all you great folks on the forum.... I will say it again.... Im very proud to be a part of this place.... everyone here will ALWAYS pull together in a time of need.... Commeradarie at its best... Thank You.... and I know Frank will be looking at us in April with a huge smile, when the bench will be unveiled.... we hope that it will be the first bench made... another aspect we all know Frank would love.... I have kept Frank's wife Donna, updated the past couple of weeks.... she sincerely Thanks everyone here for their thoughtfulness..... She knows it would of meant alot to him to know of all the support....

I would also like to share some other awesome news.... this I know would make Frank so very proud.... I was contacted by the Corvette Design Team at GM shortly after our post on the forum about the unfornuate news of Frank's passing..... Well many of the folks at GM knew Frank , as we all knew, Frank had the latest and greatest info for us.... he was a huge supporter of Corvette... so the Corvette Team wanted to contribute to Frank's memorial, so they are in the process of designing the artwork for Frank's granite bench.... on the corvetteforum side there will be a C6 emblem, a profile of a C6, with the museum yellow spike in the background and maybe a few other items... there will be some wording on it.... IN HONOR OF FRANK GENOVA (ANOTHER YELLOW) FROM ALL YOUR FRIENDS AT CORVETTEFORUM.COM....
Jaime is going to have a C5R a C6R along with a C6R racing emblem and some words in honor of Frank from his family.... My hope is that we will have the artwork finished in order to be the first bench at the museum done... We hope to have it completed by the birthday bash in April to present sometime during that weekend.... probably on Saturday of the event..... I hope those of you who can make the event will stop by to see the bench we all worked to get for Frank... it will stand there through time honoring our friend ..... Thanks again everyone.... Tracey

Thanks Tracey, what an awesome tribute and I knew the folks from the Corvette team would want to be involved. I sure hope that it can get done for the bash. Frank would have been there and I hope his tribute can be. Take care my friend.

Truly outstanding ...I didn't know Frank except through his posts here in CF but I wish I had met him before he left us...

A very fitting tribute to a man we all had the greatest respect for. Frank was a "one of a kind" and his absence is already felt by many of our members. TrayC6, you did a great job in putting this together, he would have been very proud.
This memorial to Frank is just one reminder that we all will pull together in the time of need. I thank all of our forum members for your donations and to the design team for taking the lead on this. That's what we are all about, it's not just a car, it's a nationwide community. May God bless Frank.

Good news! I hope to see it when I make it to the NCM this year if it is finished. I think, if you haven't already, that CF should "retire" his screen name . Just an idea.

Great idea As it is still an active account, If they don't "delete" it, no one else can take it.

TracyC6,
Thanks to you and all that have made this a reality for the memory of Frank. I can't wait to see this bench during the C5/C6 Bash this spring. This is just another example of what makes the Corvette Forum so special.

A great tribute for a great guy. I still look for his responses on certain questions.

I have been sitting here thinking about Frank, and something occured to me. Frank had to have known that we were going to do this for him. Frank had great connections at the plant, and I know he had inside information that he knew better than to share with us because it was privelidged information.

Heck, Frank probably already knows what engine the bench is going to have in it
