Skip the plug-in CAGS eliminator device. Get a Diablo Predator and turn it off at the computer. While you're in there, load the Diablo Tune. Not as good as a custom tune, but not bad either.

I have the one from Mid America. My Vette is a daily driven car with 7K miles and the CAGS eleminator was added first thing after we got it home. It's been doing good so far.

It's a lot easier to put a 1/2 watt resistor in the connector case than it is to put an 8 watt in there. If the 1/2 watt 2200 ohm resistor does not throw a CEC then that's the right value to use. I think the manufactures/designers of the store-bought units may have skimped on the wattage rating to get it to fit in the case.
Have you read any threads here on CF that talk about how they came up with the 2200 ohm value. Trial and error or knowledge of what the limit is in the computer?

This is most interesting. I just received a new unit from a well known vendor and I measured it at 24 ohms. Big difference. Now I'm wondering if all the store-bought units use this 24 ohm value and the home constructed units are using the 2200 ohms as you have.
