Default Over Visor LED Light Problem

I just tried to install a Radio Shack 276-316 Blue LED above the passenger visor that shines on the shifter. The blue LED worked for a second and stopped. Now neither the new or the old light bulb works. Is there a fuse or something I can check?

Default good

That is good to hear. Mine went right in after clipping the wire leads down to match the OEM light and guess I got lucky as it only works one way installed. Simple just reverse it if it did not come on. I love the blue look over the orange and have every light inside modded to blue LED. My wife's Acura has the blue light for the shifter area also from the factory. Not sure why GM opted for orange but I never liked that color.

When exactly is this light under the passenger visor suppose to be on? I can't find anything about it in the manual.

Part of the problem I had changing the bulb was not realizing what makes this thing work. So far, I discovered that it works when I manually turn on my headlights with the car off. If I turn the car on, it shuts off. If I turn the car off and then turn the lights back on manually, it still does not work. As far as I am concerned, "ON MY Car" it works when it wants. No consistency at all.

An LED has to be forward biased. Diodes do not pass current if reverse biased. That is what diodes do. They are like a check valve for current.

With the car off turn on your parking lights.

The other 4 bulbs take a different type of bulb, correct? What kind did you use? Also, how do you take off the footwell covers?
Thanx,
Rich

Type 194 bulb; recommend the internet auction site...I went with the quads and happy.

Default LED Swap

May want to turn the LED around so the polarity is verified correct. Mine is on anytime the car is on lights on or not the same as my Acura.
