Default For Those Who Purchased or Plan to Purchase a 2007

What is the most significant improvement over the 2006 in your opinion? For me, it's the cross-drilled rotors for F55 Package. I would not have opted for the F55 without them.

Love my 2-tone seats, but the warranty probably thrilled me the most, maybe 'cause I got the warranty boost after I bought the car in July. Only a$$ kicker about the 5 yr powertrain warranty is that it's a tougher decision to get into engine mods.

Tough one...I also love the cross-drilled rotors on the F55. The two-tone interior really adds to the interior. The longer warranty is great. All other changes are minor.

If I had to pick just one, I would probably have to say the longer warranty.

That, and another year gone by to work out any bugs.

For me the difference was in the warranty which will help me re-sell the car when it comes time for me to move on.

The roof issue being resolved was the main reason I went with a new 07 versus a used 05 or 06 (also the DBS and shift to reverse was taken care of). I didn't find out about the new warrenty till I had already ordered the car so that was a nice bonus.

In the end though with the GMID price it was much easier for me to finance a new car then used, plus in my area the used C6's were MORE $ then a new 07

I drive the base C6 with no holes in my rotors. The base rotors are also a bit smaller. I'll probably replace my '05 with an '08 AND order Z51. My first and likely only serious modification will be to replace the cross drilled rotors with aftermarket slotted ones. Unlike factory parts the aftermarket will have a left and a right that are different.

I have read quite a lot lately on this forum and others about cross drilled rotors. The bottom line seems to be that slotted OR solid is better than cross drilled and these types can be found on most true race cars. I've read comments from experts that even Porsche bows to consumer demand, though, and supplies cross drilled rotors since the buyers associate this style with performance.

So, I plan to get the Z51 simply to have the slightly greater rotor diameter then swap them out for slotted before I have 10 miles on the car. Also, aftermarket rotors no matter the style are available that weigh significantly less than GM factory rotors-this is also, from what I have read, a very good thing.

So I am glad you love the cross drilled rotors but I suggest you do some research on brake performance cross drilled vs solid or slotted.

My '08 Z51 rotors will be carefully stored away and replaced when it comes time to sell the car. I like easily reversible mods like this.

By the way, in terms of actual street performance, I think you'll find that the base brakes and either F55 or Z51 are very close in capability. However, I believe that replacing the larger cross drilled rotors with lighter slotted ones and perhaps ceramic pads will result in brakes that substantially outperform any factory C6 brakes with the exception of the Z06. (And that, from what I read, is another interesting story all by itself. )

I like everything you're saying above about the slotted. I have a question for you though, is the larger rotors the only feature of Z51 you want, are you going to be tracking ?
I think you can just get the caliper bracket to move it out farther for larger rotors. I've read here the calipers are the same except the pistons in the rears being 45mm instead of 42mm.

Interesting that you say that the next Vette you buy, that you will "order Z51".

Only way to order, IMO, unless you are going to go all the way to the Z06.

I have an 07 C6Z -- what did they change?

I'd say the warranty.
