Default Cabin air filter replacement .

I found replacements made by purolator at advance auto parts for $12.00. My local dealer wants $68.00. The part number for the Purolator filter is C25623 in case anyone is interested.

Just FYI...there are two filters available from your Chevy dealer. One is the standard filter and the second is carbon impregnated (no jokes please). Bob at Fichtner quoted me $21.28 and $37.38 respectively (plus shipping).

Not contradicting you. Just telling you what my dealer quoted me.
$68.00 and they didn't have one in stock. Didn't mention two versions.

It is unlikely the cabin filter needing replacement is causing a smell. If you have a bad smell, you most likely have mold growing in the a/c condenser and/or ducts. There is a TSB out for that and a dealer can clean them with a special cleaner. If you do a search, there are old threads discussing that problem.

It seems so much less expensive. Is the replacement as effective as the original?

Default Cabin Filter

Thanks for the info. I checked my advanced auto parts store and did not see one with the other cabin filters. Did they have to get it from behind the parts counter.

No problem here. I was just passing along additional information on filters and prices available. I had that info. because I recently replaced my cabin and air filters.

I bought the Purolator. It does have the charcoal layer. Pay attention to the orientation of the cover before you remove it. If you're a mechanical idiot like me and wear bifocals and try and change it in a dark garage you can become frustrated when you try and put the cover back on upside down.
