I finally made it to South Shore Buick last Friday and took a bunch of pics of a 2007 Lucerne in 89U Crystal Red Tintcoat. These cars are very hard to find. Here you go:

If you notice any orange cast in the images, it is due to my Olympus' CCD. The Crystal Red simply looks red in person with no orange components. The metal flake in the paint appears gold under the tintcoat. From some angles, the color actually looks like a darker shade of a non-metallic red (in comparison to VR). When you see it straight on, the metal flake really shows up.

I got a call from Tommy Jr. at Mac Mulkin yesterday and got an allocation for a Crystal Red 08 that he just received late Friday (only apparent constraint for these few released allocations this week was the 4LT). My order has been submitted and I'll know for sure this coming Tuesday that it has processed successfully. The TPW looks like the week of 7/23 (I should know for sure on Tuesday). I've got the following on order:

To the OP- was your order confirmed with a TPW? I didn't think that any orders were being accepted this week by GM.

Wow. I think that might be the best red yet. Still have to see it live and on a vette. Originally I thought we were talking about a very deep red -- but this is very light and cherry, gumball like. Not black cherry like monty red...this is a little more sweet and hot. I think it's going to be a classic!

well,the first time that car came up on the net with that color,somebody said that's not the same red.I guess between what's his name posting this car yesterday and you here today, they were wrong.

I was away for a couple of days and didn't see your question! As of last Wednesday (6/20), I was at order status 2095 - Order on Manual Hold. We're not sure exactly what this means (apparently an uncommon status event code). I will get updated status by later on this week.

The pics that Corvette Conti originally posted and those that I posted are 89U Crystal Red Tintcoat. This apparently recently replaced Crimson Pearl on the Lucerne. I've got the electronic window sticker for the Lucerne I photographed showing the color (in PDF). If anyone wants it, just send me a PM.

I believe Mag Red II was available on Envoys, and Victory red comes on several vehicles.
