1st oil change? / Dealer or Instant Oil Change Shop?
I will have the 2006 one year this month and only have 2,236 miles on the car.
When is a good time for the 1st oil change?
Is it Miles or Months
Whats thoughts on Dealer service or Instant Oil Change Shop?

Now's a good time - - with the investment you've made, no reason not to be conservative on maintaining it in my view.
I think the manual indicates to do so when the oil life indicator on the DIC so indicates or once each year . .

I'm getting a "comp oil change" on the 08 from the selling dealer at 500 miles. I have always changed the oil the first time between 500 & 1000 miles. Call it good practice, or just being AR..

Miles or months... It's realy up to the owner. I think that most folks would have had their oil changed after the 1st 500 mile break-in period (at least I did).
It looks like you have a garage queen (same as mine) due to the very low milage. I have the oil done every 3,000 miles plus at the very end of the convertible season and once again when the season opens up. So it seems that it is going to be 3 a year for me. I think that the oil change before the winter is a very important one so that you get any of the old oils/acids out of the car before it sits for the winter... then again there are some lucky folks who don't know what winters are (I used to be one of them).
Happy 4th of July!

I shot for 1000 mi but didn't get around to it until just over 1500 mi. I would agree with the 1 yr mark max. After that I would say about 5k unless you've been driving particularly hard or on dirt roads (yeah right).

I've had mine since the middle of February and have 1750 miles. Just bought the oil and filter, so any day now.

People who change their oil before the interval recommended by the manufacturer (in our case at 0% on the oil life meter or 1 year WCF) have been brainwashed and fail to believe that there has been a VAST improvement in lubrication technology over the years. 3000 mile oil changes are just as out of date as carburetors. They are changing their oil to give themselves a deluded sense of doing something that will protect their vehicle and that they know more than the engineers at the manufacturer know.
What they are doing is wasting their money to gain a false sense of potentially increased longevity. However, the bottom line is that it is their money to waste.

Haven't changed your oil during the first year...it's time to do it.
I'm sure you're enjoying your Corvette but I have to say...you're going to make some used car buyer a very happy person.

When the DIC says to change it, or annually, whichever comes first. The DIC doesn't keep track of calendar time, so you have to do that on your own. Since you drive so few miles annually, you will need to change the oil on a calendar basis.
Don't forget to reset the oil life monitor--even though it appears you're going to be on the annual schedule, it's possible your driving habits will change in the future.

500 miles for me.
For the $60, I'd rather be safe than sorry (I was looking for those pesky needle bearings - none found! )
Plus I wanted to get under her and see what was going on.
My next change will be at 3500 and 3K thereafter regardless of what the DIC indicates (unless the DIC indicates to change before 3K - not likely).
Everyone - and I mean everyone has an opinion on this.
