Trouble burning MP3 CDs

Trouble burning MP3 CDs
I know this issue has a lot of posts but I could not find one with my issue. I have an 07 vert with NAV. I have burned a CDW with about 50 tracks on it. When it gets to track 7, it then repeats that track but says it is track 8. It does the same thing with track 8 but then says track 10. For the rest of the CD, the NAV screen displays two tracks ahead where I am actually playing. Otherwise, the CD plays fine. I have re-burned the disk several times and the problem repeats. I use I-Tunes to burn the disk
My other car has a CD player that plays MP3s no matter what I use to burn the CDs. Tracklengths, folder levels, and disk types are not a problem. Why is the Vette so damn picky about playing MP3s!!!

Not an expert on things related to sound systems, but I don't think the problem is necessarily the player in the car. I had a 6 disc changer go bad in my wife's Mercedes. The tech at the car stereo shop guessed that we played some burned CD's in it. He said that the CD player sensors are sometimes very sensitive, and something about it being more difficult for the CD player to read burned CD's. He said that over time they will mess up certain CD players, with the Mercedes player being one with that sort of history. He strongly advised us to keep anymore burned CD's out of it. After spending $500 for a replacement, I strongly heeded his advice. I suggest that if you are having problems, the best option for you would probably be the same. Check with a sound techy in your area for his/her opinion.

See my thread on this issue. It will resolve your problems in no time. The NAV unit is unlike other cars. Read on for your solution...

The answer is in the number of characters in the song titles or artist name or album etc. Once you shorten them to no longer than approx 22 characters you will be fine. Keep in mind that iTunes adds a 3 digit song track plus a space in front of what you are burning.

I use Nero Burning Rom and it works fine. Select "No Multi Session", "Mode 1", "ISO 9660 Only", "Max. of 31 Chars (Level 2)", "ASCII". Remove all special characters such as dashes, commas, semicolons and etc.... Remember that since this is essentially a data disk, the songs will burn onto the CD in alphabetical order, If you wish to specify an order of play, preface each title with a "01", "02", "03" and etc...

But I also have the base audio system if that makes a difference. Nero is definitely the way to go.

The base audio system has different software than the NAV unit. It will read discs differently.

Burn the CD at a slower burn speed, I had problems with my skipping badly, but saw a post on this forum and someone suggested that, and wallah problem fixed. But note that I have the Bose system that comes in the 07 3lt

Help
I'm having problems also with MP3 playing. I have an 05 with Nav and after 2 years of telling my Dealership there was an update to play MP3 in the Nav unit, they finally did it when I brought in a copy of the forum showing the update number.
Dealership finally installed. I've tried two MP3 burned at different rates, fast and slow both come back with "No Valid Disk Loaded" on the Nav unit. Both disk play great in my daughters car. Using Windows Media player to burn data disk.
Any suggestions?
