I have not changed mine yet, but I do want to 'convert' the factory low beams to 6000K along with the fog lights. Where are you buying you conversion kit?

I think I would still have to try to get to it through the access panel in the wheelhouse liner before I resorted to that procedure.

If you are replacing the D1S bulb you do NOT have to remove the Bumper. Either turn wheel or remove wheel and there is a small access panel to get to the bulb. Since I had it done and watched I do not remember if the bulb just twists off or if there is a torx screw first.
For the fog light conversion it is easier to just remove the wheel and the whole plastic wheel well and you can access fog lamps and find a good place to tie up the ballasts. Hope this helps.

I just converted mine this weekend and they are D1S and you'll need a torx-15 to remove the two nuts on each bulb... Be real careful not to drop the nut. I dropped one and had to retreive it with a magnet extractor.
I converted them to 6000K and did the Fog conversion HID 6000K too.
I also purchased a Craftsman torx wrench with tips magnetized.

Yep, replaced the LB's with the 6000K D1S bulbs.
For the fogs, you need to take out the wheel well liner. Not hard at all.
The headlights have a rubber panel in the wheel well that you pull. Found the 2 torx 15 screws. Yep, and dropped one to.
Having 6000K fog and low beam HID's is bright. Didn't know how yellow every other headlight is until now.
I hope my new blue 100watt high beams look better than the stock ones. I wont know until I build my new wiring harness, but man, are they yellow compared to the HID's.

You guys that just changed your low beams did you find D1S or was it D1C which is supposed to be universal but I am thinking not. I ordered D1S but received D1C and was told it's ok so I installed D1C 6 months ago but there is a focal point rather than a flat beam.
Also since i had it installed & though I watched I missed the torx scre part. Can someone explain or show a pic of where it was. Also did you reuse the torx screw or is the bulb a twist on.

Got the Fog conversion and LB bulbs off EBAY.
Bulb is D1S, and it projects a wide flat beam like the stock bulb. I think the D1C bulb gives a pin point. It's not designed for a projector lens like on our C6's.
The access panel is inside the wheel well on the top/front. It is a rubber panel held inplace by pins that you pull. Once inside, the low beam bulb is in the middle behind another rubber grommet. Pull grommet, and you will see the bulb/ignitor assembly. The 2 torx screws are on the sides. The bulb does not twist out. Pull screws, and the hole assembly comes out. You need to remove the metal holder from the bulb, and mount it on the new bulb. Reuse screws to mount.
