NPP? (Don't flame me, I searched, I swear.)
Can somebody explain what is all this hype about this Mild 2 Wild NPP thing? I'm confused. Can they only be used on Z06 models, or can I use it on my stock 2007 Z51?
Is it better to just pull the fuse or what?
Whats the difference between NPP and Corsa that everyone is talking about? See, I did a search, but reading all the posts everyone TALKS about it but I couldn't find a description of what one was or what it entails. What does NPP stand for, too?
Sorry, I'm a newb. Just got my Vette in October and literally only drove it about a dozen times before parking it for the winter.

i pulled the fuse on my 08 with npp and it was too loud for every day driving... so I bought the M2W switch and love it... Loud when I want it and quiet when I want it quiet...

NPP is the option code for bi-mode exhaust. It's computer controlled. Some people would rather contol it themselves, mild to wild is great for that. If you want it full open all the time, pulling the fuse is good for that. Corsa is a great sounding aftermarket exhause, but is not bi-mode. Ordering a car, get the NPP and mild to wild!

NPP refers to the dual mode exhaust that comes on Z06's and is an option on new Vettes. If you dont have a butterfly with an actuator above it on 2 of your 4 tips then you don't have it.

But you can install it and use a NPP in a box type controller. All you need to do is buy the mufflers from GM parts and install the little remote controlled suction pump. The real deal from the factory uses the same muffler set up but instead of using the push button on/off suction pump device it uses a very complex system based on RPM to open and close the baffles via suction. The air pump device allows you to control the open/close cycle on demand via a fob remote and makes the install of the system on non factory equipped NPP cars much easier and cheaper.

I should think so. Anyway most aftermarket exhaust systems are more free flowing than stock anyway and usually give you around 10 extra HP without really trying to hard.

I just picked up my 08 NPP mufflers today (thanks Gene), and now waiting for my controller from Ed. Haven't put them on yet, but I can't wait. Although they do look pretty good sitting in my living room (even my wife doesn't mind them - although only for a short time)!
