Wow.

And just this afternoon I asked out local stereo shop if they could install replacement speakers and a linear amp to, ahem, improve the Bose. I feel so diminished

WOW!! That is bad ***!

One question... How do the Kicker's sound combined with the Focal seperates? Did you go with the Kicker's because of limited space? It's just that personally, Kicker wouldn't be my first choice if I was spending big bucks on Focals. But then I could be way off.
