Default Billet door sill

Anyone out there that has the c6 chrome plated billet sills? Do you have to remove the factory sill? Does anyone know the thickness of these sills?

I have them.

I don't think its required to remove the factory sill, but I would HIGHLY recommend it to get a good contact so it doesn't start falling off. And the factory sill doesn't come off very easily...

I don't know the exact thickness, but I would guess somewhere between 1/8" and 1/4"

I removed mine. Not easy, but if you heat them up they peel off and then you need lots of Goo-Gone and elbow grease to get rid of the glue residue.

A little heat from a hair drier and they come right off.
Then stick on the new ones.

A little heat from a hair drier and they do come right off, but the glue doesn't! I guess if you're okay with just applying the new one on top of the old glue, but the glue is the hard part to get off...
