Default Between Car Washes - Getting Rid of Bugs After Ride

Guys,

Wanted to see what you all use after a highway drive to get rid of the bugs on the front of the car and dust on the back.

I can tell you I use a bit of Zaino Z6 after I wipe it down with the California Car Duster. However, I"m looking for anything quick and easy. That is but wanted to see what you all use as well.

Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer. With Rejex, nothing sticks, so I could actually use water.

Meguiars quick detailer. It is a little cheaper per bottle than the Z6. I save that for a wipe down after a Zaino application.

Adam's Detail Spray...it doesn't get easier or quicker than that.

Is Z6 a spray on wax or a quick detailer?

In between washes I use distilled water in a spray bottle and micro fiber towels. Come to think about it, I haven't washed the car in the 5 months I've owned it.

I keep a thick coat of Meguiars on the front at all times. Then, after a bug run, soak the bugs with a damp towel for a minue or so then use a microfiber bug sponge. They come right off. And yes, the California duster is the only way to go for a light dusting.

Is Z6 a spray on wax or a quick detailer?

Z6 is called a "gloss enhancer" by Zaino. It is a spray on, basically a quick detailer on steroids.

I've used Zaino exclusively for about 10 months. Last month I tried RejeX on the leading edges (front of mirrors and front end) before a 2500 mile trip. The bugs always came off with very little effort with just the Zaino. With the RejeX, it has been much easier to wipe off the bugs. I think the Zaino gives a better shine than the RejeX which is why I will keep using it on the rest of the car. Oh, the RejeX is a little harder to wipe off than the Zaino and you have to let the RejeX "cure" for at least 12 hrs before you can take it out and drive.

California duster and a squirt bottle with water from my dehumidifier. Wipes right off with Rejex already on the car.

I prefer the preventative approach. You can't scratch a Colgan bra with a bug sponge! They come right off.

I'd tell you what I do, but I don't want anyone to pass out thinking that I'm leaving a swirl mark that can be seen under a microscope

i use plain warm water on a micro fiber cloth. removes bugs with ease better than any car detailer. when i go to a car show i just put the wet cloth in a zip lock plastic bag and remove the bugs with it
