Looking to buy a new C6 Z and have seen people in the past offering their employee price discount code for use.

Employees can't share their discount (qualifier). High placed executives with GM do get a handfull of GMS which they can use as good will for whomever they want. Other than those select few it is only available to immediate family members. Violation of that rule will cost them their discount and possibly worse.

Who is eligible for the GM employee discount?

Spouse
Children
Stepchildren
Grandchildren
Stepgrandchildren
Grandparents (including in-law and step)
Parents
Stepparents
Siblings (including full, half and step)
Mother-/father-in-law
Sons-/daughters-in-law
Brothers-/sisters-in-law
Same-sex domestic partners (SSDP) of eligible participants also qualify, where applicable. (Note: Eligible SSDPs are treated the same as spouses and therefore, their eligible family members are also included.) For more information, contact the National Benefits Center at 1-800-489-4646.

What is the policy for misuse?
Authorization numbers may not be sold or bartered. This program is subject to audit and verification, and misuse will result in sanctions against the GM employee. Violations of these program rules and guidelines by any purchaser may result in sanctions against the eligible participant. Sanctions may include, but are not limited to, the loss of privileges, repayment of monies and/or employment action, up to and including the termination of employment. In addition, legal action may be commenced for violation of program rules.

You won't get too many to step up publicly and risk it all.

You can however get a GM employee to share a "supplier discount for friends" certificate. GM employees get two per month to share. This is a GSU discount and it is encouraged for them to share. The discount is not as large as a GM Employee discount but it is still nothing to pass up.

Also with the employee discount on Corvettes, title has to remain in employee's name for 2 years. We can't make a quick buck that way.

Check the frequently asked question file. He likely identified you as his brother.

You won't have a "whoops" at pick up. You are eligible. Notice where it says Siblings, full half and step.

Odd. I can share my GM discount with a friend. Unfortunately I already have a friend that needs a car.

An Employee can share a Friends and Family discount which is basically a discount to a GM Supplier pricing level. This was formerly the GM in the driveway program. You won't likely (legally) be able to share an employee level discount unless you are at an executive level. For all other employees I've listed the eligible family members that you can share the discount with.

Partially correct! The family member who uses the GMS program must have it in their name. The employee issuing the auth number name does not go on the title....just to clarify.
