Cutting Bushings: Lowering C6 *What did you Use?*
Hey everyone,
I was wondering what you guys used to cut those bushings. I lifted the rear today to cut one rib but i was having a hard time cutting the bushing with a PVC cutting wire...
this is what i used:
*PVC Cutting Wire**
And here is the outcome:
I also lowered the front a bit too.. I added two complete turns, so 5 turns total in the front.. and 3 1/2 turns (stopped because of bushings) in the rear... I like how the front turned out, looks good.. may be a little low.. but didn't go all the way down to the bushings... should be ok, and even better when i lower the rear...
All i need to know now is, how can i cut one rib? what tool should i use?? even after i get one rib out, how do i cut it in half so i can pull it out???
Thanks again ladies and gentleman!! i really appreciate your help and feedback.

Not sure I understand you said you used the PVC pipe cutter but you had problems. I used that to cut the rear busings on mine and it worked fine no problems. What issues did you have specifically?

Did you take the pressure off the bushing before cutting it.

I took the pressure off the rear bushing and used a saws all it took 30 sec. I screwed the fronts all the way in and on the rear I also screwed them all the way in and cut 1 ring off. I took the rear tires off to have more room to saw. It took longer to get car jacked up than lowering.

1) make sure the bushing is not touching the control arm..
2) put some elbow in it..and start pulling and pushing w/ the pvc wire cutter.. should take no more than 10 minutes... took like 2 breaks

How much did this lower your car? I screwed the front and rear all the way in and cut one rib from rear. I did this about a week ago and have driven about 5 miles and got 1/2 inch drop. Is what most of you are getting?
