Sorry, but the best way to get your order's current status code is through your dealer. It sounds to me like your sales rep is an idiot. I suggest contacting your dealer's new car sales manager and having him/her look up your status code in VOMS (vehicle order management system). If that doesn't give you results, you might consider re-ordering through a different dealer since your current one clearly doesn't get it.

BTW, how about filling in your forum profile so we can learn a little more about you? We're a pretty friendly group.

Only your dealer can look up your order. If your salesperson can't do it try the sales manager. GM has closed the order system so that only the selling dealership can look up their order.

It is also worth asking if they have an allocation and what time frame it is for. Corvette is assembled on an allocated order basis. Dealerships get allocations based on the Corvette sales volume. Some smaller dealerships only get two or three Corvettes a year, some get that many per week. If they don't have an allocation it can be a long wait if it is earlier in the model year.

They should be able to give you your status event code. It will be a usually be a four digit number and this will indicate where your order is in the pipeline. The codes are as follows:

STATUS EVENT CODES
1100-Order placed at dealer
1101-Order accepted by GM
2001-Order generated to dealer
2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050-Order changed
2500-Order sent to production, preferenced
3000-Order accepted by production control
3100-Order available to sequence (now the tpw becomes more stable)
3300-Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400-Order broadcasted for production
3800-Vehicle produced
4150-Vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehicle delivered to customer

Thanks to Paul for posting the list of status codes. One thing to be aware of, Fred, is that until your order hits 2500 it's essentially just sitting in a pot waiting to be "picked up" by GM. The clock doesn't begin ticking until 2500; from that point you can typically expect to see your car in 5 - 6 weeks.

When your dealer enters an order it goes to GM for error checking and edit. If it passes it goes to Status 1100 and you get an order number. If your dealer does not have an allocation, your order can sit at this level indefinitely.

What you want to see is your order move to Status 2000, which means it has been accepted by GM because your dealer has an allocation. This should occur within one week of placing your order.

The next step you want to see is a move to Status 2500, means your order was pulled to the Production System. This should occur within a week or so after the move to 2000.

Then you really want to see the move to Status 3000, within a week or so of the move to 2500. This is excitement time.

Default Answer from dearler on order

The dealer now admits he does not have an allocation at this time. He admitted this after giving me a status code of 1100, and I explained to him that I knew what that meant. Thanks guys for the help.

Cancel your order and replace with a forum dealer. If not, you might be waiting up to 3 months like I did. Ordered my Corvette in June of 2007 and got it just in time to put it away for the winter!

Yes, it's time to change dealers. Good luck with the next one.

Default New Vette order

I bought mine from Ken at Fichtner Chevrolet in Laurel MT. Process was good and Ken will pick you up at the airport. Call him at 406-628-4618. You could be cruising before you know it.
