Broken plastic tab on air filter base

Broken plastic tab on air filter base
Good afternoon y'all! Without having to replace, is there a suggestion on what to use to glue back a broken tab on the air filter base. I broke off the piece that the metal latch hooks on to in order to lock in the air filter covers. I've tried JB Weld to no avail. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct application for the situation. I initially tried super glue but the pressure of the latch simple causes the piece to snap off. Thanks for taking the time to read my question. PS: sorry about the size of the pictures!
The tab would've locked down the air filter case.
This one shows the bottom one is missing in comparison to the top circled tab.

My 2005 had the same problem the plastic gets brittle, and cracks.
You might try e-bay, or buy new system Airaid filter assembly or there others that make them.

I would suggest you try Gorilla Glue, and coat it heavily. I don't believe it will work, but it is worth a shot. That type break, in that location, with the constant pressure put on it, is not likely repairable.
If yo do try GG, would you please report back with your result?
Thank you.

I had the same thing happen to my 2007. I could not find that stock air box anywhere. I was told by more than one Corvette part seller that it is not made anymore. I found one used at a junk yard and am using that. An aftermarket like Air Raid will not work for me because it would keep my car from passing state inspection. Good luck.

TONS of owners have swapped-out intakes. Do WTB add in c6 parts for sale and you'll most likely find one in near-new condition for pennies on the dollar.

I ended up buying a whole stock air intake filter assembly for my 05 and replaced all the missing broken tabs and grommets since it was that way when I bought it. It didn't appear to be not sealing at least but had decided to replace it with a stock unit until i decide to change it out.

Generally, I haven't had much luck with plastic repairs in high pressure areas.
DEPENDING on the type of plastic, a plastic welder may work.
Or perhaps, maybe you could install a metal pin from the inside?
