Its still as bland as all the other silvers over the years...
Seriously though, they need to add a tint coat or something to it to give it some dimension....it just always looks flat to me, while some of the silvers offered on the luxury cars seem to have some more defintion. And I don't mean just throw in more metallic...Just my opinion...

Here are a few that I shot today. The new silver is a bit lighter than Machine silver and the metallic is less pronounced.
The first two are Machine Silver in the foreground and the new Blade Silver in the background.
The second two are just the new Blade silver.

09 silber
Hi Thanks for the new silver pictures! On the paint chip the 09 silver looked darker... nice to see the real deal! Are the emblems on the rear end larger than what is on the 2008's?

It is very close. The difference appears to be in the type and the amount of metallic in the paint. The color shade is just a touch lighter to my eye as well but very close.
It could be any number of things I guess that contributed to the change even down to the particular forumulation of paint for the plant paint equipment may have needed to be changed and they couldn't get the same shade. Not fact b.t.w. but one of any number of guesses that could have played a role. It isn't always as it appears so to speak.

Is the "blade" too dull..?
The silver color looks "washed out"... maybe even a "matte" finish... I know pics won't do it justice, but this "blade silver" looks like a pale version of "machine silver"...
I'm a bit disappointed in the cyber gray as well... it seems just a shade or two too dark (albeit in pics). Someone mentioned that perhaps a middle ground gray might be more desirable - titanium...
Now that intrigues me...

I was hoping that Blade Silver was going to have MORE metallic, not less. I wished they had made it look like the silver that comes on the McLaren SLR Mercedes, that silver looks amazing!

Paul, thank you for all the good info and great pictures! To digress... Your Precision Red coupe looks teriffic. Red interior accents are fine. What did you use on your door panels to make them look so new?
