time to change the oil again and was wondering if the Mobil1 extended life oil was approved for use in the c6.

do a search just in C6 Gen. last I read, no, it's not. but supposedly someone called/wrote Mobil and verbally they say it is. if it were me, I'd go with safe side.

The owners manual has a GM Code for oil to use. Consult it and then look on the back of the can er bottle. If you have an '86 or older Vette then add a bottle of STP Oil Treatment to get enough Zinc Dialkyl Dithio phosphate so that your flat tappet cam won't wear out...~$3.00 at Wal Mart.

GM wants you to use 4718M approved oil in the Corvette....the regular Mobil One is the only Mobil oil that is certified to that standard...after the warranty is over, you are on your own. Whatever oil you try, look for 4718M on the label, it is the standard for Corvette only, all other GM cars have the 6094M standard.
