Default How manny of you bought your C6 used ?

I 've bought my Vette's the last few years used and other than having multiple problems with the C4 ,the C5 and C6 haven't given me any real problems. I could have bought one new but chose not to so I wouldn't cramp my lifestyle .Why did you choose to by one used ?

I did.....

Being younger its kind of hard to go out and buy a new C6. I was actually looking at an '04 Z06 when the sales guy started telling about a car he had in the back that was gettting detailed. A '06 VY C6 that had just been traded in. Some guy bought the C6 for his wife....she didn't like the color and actually backed into a brick wall in there drive way. They had the back facia replaced and traded the car in 2 weeks later for a new '07 Avalanche. They only had the car for a total of 5 months and put 1462 miles on it. I actually got to meet the owner of the car and got the low down.....That's how I know all this.

Been driving her for 18 months now and she's about to hit 22,000 miles. Probably the best purchase I've ever made.

I bought my '06 C6 used because I found exactly what I was looking for (Machine Silver/Ebony/3LT/Z51) in perfect shape with 1,700 miles on it and saved $15,000+ over any new one i was pricing with equivalent equip. I don't how how you beat that.

I bought my '05 with 5k miles on it (dealer driven) but never titled. I'm happy.

Quite honestly, I don't think I'll ever buy new. The depreciation the first year is a huge hit so I'll let someone else take that hit, thank you very much!

Bought my 07 this past Saturday! 3LT.BLACK ON BLACK/HRT 542RS. Only way I could afford a C7 was to purchase used. I let the 1st owner take the deprication bite. Out the door for 40G. And that was with the 19/20 HRE's

Got my '05 for about 15k less than a comparably equipped '08. I'm not too fanatical about the details, so I didn't care about the two-tone interior options, steering wheel, engine, or tranny. I figure with 15k saved, I could always supercharge if I was really in need of more power and beef up the tranny if it was really sloppy.

Plus you can't find a DSOM after '06 anyways. AO is a bit too light for me.

bought my c6 used and have had no trouble with it at all.* Not only saved the depreciation of the first year but also a large amount of sales tax as it is quite high in Washington

With mine I saved $41K CDN off full list of $97K here in Canada . Mine was a GM Exec Demo from Corimer Chevrolet in Long Beach California. No problems at all, other than a slightly loose Valve stem core on my driver side rear tire. Easy fix thanks to the Forum Bro's!!!

I saw a DSOM coupe for the first time at a Car Show in Sep 04. By the time I was in a position to buy my C6, DSOM had already been replaced by Atomic Orange. My ONLY requirements for my C6 were Coupe AND DSOM. Searced the country for months, then found a nice low mileage 06 at my local CarMax...and the price was RIGHT!

My 05 Vert is the ONLY car I’ve purchased new.
I’ve had over 50 cars, most were fun, trendy cars, Corvettes, Porsches, Jeeps, etc.
Yes, I’ve had problems with some cars. A thousand dollars will fix a LOT of problems on a car.
Depreciation?… Yes even on a used car.
I’m a little older now (48), I can afford more car than in my past, still buying used is my way.

Why would I buy new. I got what I wanted down to the color and extras if not more and someone else took the initial deprectiation hit.

I bought a new 05 coupe and drove it for two years. Had a few issues with it that were covered under warranty. Then I took it in one day for an oil change and there it was...... a VY 07 Z06! This was when most were going for way over sticker. I got it for several thousand under sticker and got a great trade in too. The Z had 400 miles on it. The previous owner had it for 6 months and only put 400 miles on it! He had clay barred it and polished the sh.. out of it too! With a 100,000 mile warranty on the car I jumped at it! I've had less problems with it than my 05. Lets hope it stays that way! Had it over a year now and oh....is it nice!

Wasn't exactly planning on used at the time (March '08), but I couldn't pass up an almost 2 year old '06 that had only 972 actual miles on it when I test drove it. It was truly in showroom condition, still smelled new inside, and had never been out in the rain since the underbody was virtually spotless. Basically, a new car for $16,000 under the sticker of a comparable new '07 or '08.

Got mine used, 07, fully loaded with 4500 miles on it. Past owner did some great mods.
