Default Noise - After installing new Zinc Rotors and Ceramic Pads

I just had my new Powder Coated Calipers, Zince DBA Rotors and Ceramic Brake pads installed on my C6 Z51 - looks great. Today - on the second day, one of my front tires is making a clunking nose when I press on the brake padel going into a stop motion.

I was told this could be from the ceramic pads (being a hard surface) being broken into with the new drilled and slotted rotors. If this is the case is that normal and how long should it take. I was also informed that the Rotor maybe warped - is that possible?

Any feedback on this would be appreciative. I do plan to bring back my vehicle to the brake shop that installed the job. He informed me to drive the vehicle over the weeked and see how it feels on Monday.

Any suggestions

"Clunking" is not a normal noise after installing new brakes. Something is loose.

Not sure if clunking is the correct word. Almost like a Tapping noice when brakes are depressed. Rotors and Ceramic Pads rubbing together this occurs. Could that be the ceramic pads breaking into the Sloted and Drilled Rotos.

Who installed the brake pads?

Did they install the springs between the edge of the pads and the calipers?

Sounds like the pads are moving back and forth when you hit the brakes.

Did you bed the brakes properly right after the install?
Here's a link to the procedure: http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

The leading edge of te pad will make a clicking sound as it hits each slot until friction modifies the angle of contact.
Mine took about 200 miles to go away...

Thanks for everyones follow up. I feel much better now. I was also told that ceramic pads - are hard and take time to break in.

I have drilled and slotted rotors on my C5 with ceramic brake pads (Satisfied Brakes - Pro Ceramic) and they have Never made any noise from day one.

In my opinion you have a problem. Hope the sound goes away for you
