For the LEO's and CCW holders
I have been reading about premature wear in the side bolsters. When I carry my duty weapon off duty (or my 1911), it is either in a 5.11 holster t-shirt or in cross draw configuration (I am right handed).
Any of y'all have any problems with carrying concealed in your cars?
My C4 was a little tight, hence buying those t-shirts from 5.11. They work really nice, but you have to wear a covering shirt, and make sure it is somewhat baggy to keep from printing with a full size pistol.
Any help will be appreciated.

When I got my C5 I had to switch from a Kimber Warrior (5") at 4 o'clock to an Ultra CDP (3") at 1 o'clock. I use an Uncle Mike's Sidekick.

P3-AT fits nicely in my pants pocket. Anything larger, I put in the door pocket.

i use one of those nylon holsters with the velcro on one side that is designed to work on the inside of a gunsafe door. Just stick it to the carpet by rt leg.

With some discomfort, I can wear an IWB on the right hip, but the gun tends to want to be where the seat belt buckle sits.
The butt of the 1911 in a Ross M17 CTU Agent holster presses hard into the right side bolster.
The SIG P232 in a Galco Concealable OWB doesn't dig into the seat, but does dig into the spare tire a bit. It needs a fairly baggy shirt to cover and since it's outside the pants, a relatively long shirt too.
When Florida is cool enough to wear an unbuttoned shirt over it, I've been using a Galco Executive shoulder holster for the SIG P232. It's not as fast as the Concealable, but it hides better.
For summer I've taken to carrying the SIG cross-draw with a Galco Scout. It's really slow, but doesn't dig into anything on me or the car.
For real extremes I sometimes resort to a Colt Junior in a pocket. But it's .25 ACP; and if you shoot someone with a .25, and they find out, they'll be mad.

Man I'm jealous of you guys. I'm stuck with my Sig P226(it's a pig,no pun intended). We are VERY limited to what we can carry off duty (Department G.O.'s). I usually just stick it on the passenger floor when driving. I know, I know it's not secure and can fly around in a crash blah blah blah. Otherwise the wife has hers

Desert Eagle 50 mag strapped to the e-brake
Seriously HK compact 40 fits nice in the center console, its pretty uncomfortable for me to have it in a holster in the vette, rubs on the bolsters too much.

You guys are so lucky, in the Socialist Republic of Kanada we are not permitted to carry anywhere except on the range. To transport a restricted firearm it must be locked in a case with a trigger or cable lock, and locked in the trunk if there is one. But a country other than my own (the good ole US of A) sees fit to bless me with a CCW permit which is good in 32 states. Go figure.
