Default Quick question on installing brake pads...

I will be installing new OEM ceramic brake pads soon and included in each kit for front and back are new clips and the "anti rattle" clips. I haven't read anything here on the forum that anybody is installing the anti rattle clips. Is this just an option? I haven't removed the originals yet so I'm not sure if they come with those on from the factory. Any help will be appreciated.

It's also Z51 if that makes any difference.

I would replace any old hardware if you received new stuff with the pads.

Of course but my question is about the anti rattle clip. All the DIY steps I've read here don't say anything about them. There are the replacement retainer clips included which naturally I would use the new ones. In other words, is there a disadvantage to using the anti-rattle clip or is there a benefit to using them.

If they're there, I would use them. There's no downside to it, and you're gonna be pissed if you leave them out and the pads start making noise.

My ceramic pads came with the anti-squeak clips and a little tube of grease to spread in between the pad and clip.

I defintely used them during the install, and can only assume everyone else does as well. I can't imagine why you would NOT want to install this.

Thanks for the replies. I guess the answer to my question is obvious.
