Default Water Spots

Well as it be drive your vette to work, i did and low and behold they water the plants behind my car. Now the back is covered in water spots, these are big nasty water spots, i can feel how ruff they are when i ran my hand over them. What can i do (when i get home) to remove them? Can a simple wash of the car take them away, or will i need to wax them off?

try wiping them off with a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar first.

I would try your normal car wash soap first. If that does not do the trick, then a mixture of vinegar and water, which may take off some of your wax or polish too.

Since you can feel them real good, then just wash the car and you'll be just dandy

well i washed the car and they are still there, you can see them once you wipe a damp towel over them or look at them at a angle, you can see them really well on the black spoiler.

for the 50/50 water vinegar, do i just mix it and use a spong to apply the mixture? or would a spray bottle and a micro fiber towel work the best?

A clay bar should take them off if the vinegar doesn't do it.

Sorry, can't answer your question about the vinegar...I've never used it. I do use a clay bar regularly.

Same thing happened to me last month at work. I was prepared to do lots of work to remove the gazillion hard water spots when two days later it came a good rain---drove home afterwards and when I went to work on it every water spot was gone. Hard to believe it did that, but it did, believe me. Acid rain must be a good thing!

ok i have the water spots from hell, tried 50/50, soaked a micro fiber cloth in the water vinegar than ran and buffed it over the water spots, the damn things are still there, should i leave the solution on the water spots for awhile?

Try using a dish soap. Dawn is best because of it's Ph. It'll strip the wax but I bet that if you use a high end wax afterwards like Zaino or Rejex, they'll be gone. I once had a black Vette and any water spot drove me nuts. Sometimes they would go away on their own..I know, sounds crazy but true. Good luck..

They are edged into the clear coat so you now you need to use a PC with an orange pad and zaino fusion (or similar)... you tried everything else.

This happened to me one time when I went to work on the front; a lot of water spots. When I got home I used Adam's Detail Spray (the pink stuff) and a microfiber towel; made it look like glass again.
