GM Parts House July 2008 C6 Specials!
Hi All,
Thank you for another great month of June. I appreciate all of the business, referrals and feedback. All of us at GM Parts House thank our forum friends and family for being good to us. GM raised some pricing this month but most of it was very minimal.
I offer free downloads of all owner's manuals from 1993-2008 on the site. To download, go to the front page at www.gmpartshouse.com. Hover over the downloads link and go from there.
This month we added the LS3 FRC's in silver matte and carbon fiber matte, 2009 emblems with chrome surround and the new 2009 body colored accessories. GM now offers the full width racing spoiler in the 2009 colors as well as the Atomic Orange! No other colors will be available at this time.
I'll keep an eye on the ZR1 items and keep you up on the availability. As always, if there is something not listed here that you're interested in please contact me directly or give me a call.

The performance exhaust is normally a less aggressive sounding and the off-road is normally a bit more louder/throaty. We currently do not have sound clips available!

There seems to be confusion as far as what the FOB comes with. As you can see in the picture below you have the black part of the FOB and then the silver part. The silver part of the FOB is actually the key and it DOES NOT come with the FOB!

FOB’s do work from ’05-’07 vehicles, slot in the glove box works.
Note: The 08 key blank is not as wide as the 07 key blank. With that said, the 08 key will not work in your 07 if your key code (cuts) contains any cuts with a #1 in the code. We don’t provide or retrieve key codes for customers who are not local to us. If you are unsure if your key has a #1 in the code please contact your dealer. On a visual note, you can tell if the key has a #1 cut in it if any of the cuts are as wide as the shaft of the key. Those are #1 cuts.
‘08 keys work in ‘07 locks, just need the new key traced. ’05 & ’06 customers will need to purchase a new lock set to use the new key. You can purchase a lock set for the rear compartment and glove box, with new keys for the locks. Use the following part numbers below for those kits.

This month we added the LS3 FRC's in silver matte and carbon fiber matte, 2009 emblems with chrome surround and the new 2009 body colored accessories. GM now offers the full width racing spoiler in the 2009 colors as well as the Atomic Orange! No other colors will be available at this time.

FOB’s do work from ’05-’07 vehicles, slot in the glove box works.
Note: The 08 key blank is not as wide as the 07 key blank. With that said, the 08 key will not work in your 07 if your key code (cuts) contains any cuts with a #1 in the code. We don’t provide or retrieve key codes for customers who are not local to us. If you are unsure if your key has a #1 in the code please contact your dealer. On a visual note, you can tell if the key has a #1 cut in it if any of the cuts are as wide as the shaft of the key. Those are #1 cuts.
‘08 keys work in ‘07 locks, just need the new key traced. ’05 & ’06 customers will need to purchase a new lock set to use the new key. You can purchase a lock set for the rear compartment and glove box, with new keys for the locks. Use the following part numbers below for those kits.

There are 2 christmas tree type retainers provided to install the decklid panel. The rear license plate frames are plastic. I know it is a lot of money, but I can only do the best I can do on the pricing.

I have not seen anything on this yet. I normally see when accessories are in the beginning stages, many months before they come out, and I have not seen this item. I will keep looking and let all you guys know when and if it comes out

Trunk Lid Liner ...
No. Look at the picture of the trunk lid liner. You can see the round heads of the black plastic Christmas tree fasteners on each side of the flag logo. Then look at the inside of your trunk lid. There are existing holes in that same position on your trunk lid. You just hold the liner up to the lid and push the two plastic fasteners through the liner into the existing holes.
The holes are already in the trunk lid because the trunk lid liner (without the logo) was originally standard equipment on convertibles with power tops. One more feature deleted by the brain power at GM.
The GM convertible trunk lid liner is much nicer than it looks in the picture. It matches the trunk area carpeting almost exactly and the logo is a nice embroidered patch, not paint.
While everything at the corvetteforum is thought to be a five minute job, this one can only escalate to a five minute job if it takes you 4 1/2 minutes to open the box.

Burning Brakes
I have an '07. I was curious if there was a change in '09 and the front/rear emblems are now chrome trim on all cars or if these emblems are just a GM accessory like many of the other items.

The chrome emblems supposedly come on a 2009, front, rear, and waterfall. If you are referring to a particular car, you would be wise to check what is actually on it.

I did have one other question. I am not familiar with Christmas tree fasteners. If for some reason you wanted / needed to remove the liner, could you remove the fasteners and reuse them later, or would they be damaged / destroyed when you remove them?
