The regular brakes don't have the crack prone drilled rotors.

larger diameter rotors and the appropriate brackets so that your calipers will fit on them.

If you wanted a 'true' Z51 conversion, you would need to buy 2 new rear calipers, approx. 100 each from Gene.

I just did the upgrade from Gene on July 4th. I have not had any issues. Really fills in the rims much better. I did not change the rear calipers out.

I did not know the piston was different. But keep in mind that the pads are exactly the same size for any C6 (and the same size as the C5's).

They did it for brake bias reasons, since the Z51 had larger rotors (i.e. more braking torque) and more aggressive pads they lowered the force in the rear a little.

I thought a smaller piston gave increased force. ????????
Anyway, the difference is about 15%. Maybe the Z51 has a smaller piston because of less weight transfer during braking due to the stiffer front spring and shocks.
