Z51 Brake Upgrade Kit
Im looking to get the Z51 Brake Kit for my standard C6 and i found this

Im wondering is this all i will need ?
dont they use bigger calipers ?

the outside dimensions of your rear caliper and the Z51 caliper are identical. The difference is the Z51 has a 42mm piston, and yours has a 45. GM must have had a reason for changing them, but many people have upgraded with no problem. If you wanted a 'true' Z51 conversion, you would need to buy 2 new rear calipers, approx. 100 each from Gene.

I just did the upgrade from Gene on July 4th. I have not had any issues. Really fills in the rims much better. I did not change the rear calipers out.

I thought a smaller piston gave increased force. ????????
Anyway, the difference is about 15%. Maybe the Z51 has a smaller piston because of less weight transfer during braking due to the stiffer front spring and shocks.
