Default L.A. Times - Top Luxury Cars

The L.A. Times had a special supplement yesterday with an article listing out the top luxury cars. While the Corvette didn't make that list (the "cheapest" was the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano at $300K), the vette did get mentions in other articles.

Page 2 has a fairly glowing review of the 2009 C6-Z06 - an excerpt:

"But the Z06’s two key stats are its zero-to-60 time and its top speed: 3.7 seconds and 198 mph, respectively. Though GM lists the car’s chief competitors as the Dodge Viper, Porsche 911 and BMW Z4, these numbers place it squarely in the supercar category —up against the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari. But with a base price of $70,000 (mine was exceptionally equipped at $77,000), the Z06 costs hundreds of thousands of dollars less. Sure, it lacks some of the finesse and finish of its foppish Italian counterparts, but for the price of one Lambo Murcielago (zero to 60 in 3.4 seconds; 205 mph top speed), you could have the Z06, a Viper, a 911 and a Z4, plus have enough money left over to build a garage to house them all in. Though the garage may need to house you, too, when your wife finds out you bought four cars instead of, say, not buying four cars."
Page 6 talks about Luxury cars that get good gas mileage - the 2008 C6 Coupe is at the top of that list.

Anyways .. while it does't have a huge amount of substance - figured it might be of interest here. Certainly some beautiful and expensive cars!

Cheers!

I didn't see CADDY or LINCOLN mentioned. I think they mean luxury "sports" cars because the referred to "super cars", which is widely accepted nomenclature referring to very fast, exotic sports cars. And for the $$$$$ CORVETTE compares very favorably.

You don't want to be mentioned in that class of autos

Of course I do!
There's very little luxury in my CORVETTE however,it's all super car!I always use CADDY + LINCOLN because I'm old school and that's what LUXURY meant back in the day.

I'm very proud of America, GM and the Corvette.

I think the 4LT should have had more soundproofing and better leather seats though. That could be the luxo model.
