Default Xm To Sirius Change

My 08 came with XM and I have Sirius in my other 3 vehicles. Can I switch the XM over or do I have to get another radio?

you have 2 options:

1. You can guy the SIR-GM1 converter. this will allow your current head unit to receive the sirius stations. Its about $50 and is very easy to install...

or

2. You can wait until sirius-xm merge is complete. You will be able to use your current radio to receive the new format of channels.

Thanks. I've got 2.5 months left on the original 90 day trial. I'll get the converter for now. Thanks for the lead!

Default The new Sirius XM Radio.

XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio have completed their merger into one company,
The trading of XM Satellite Radio on the Nasdaq ceased at the close of the market on Monday.
Subscribers of both services will still be able to use their current devices. They will also have the option of upgrading to a "best of Both Worlds" package, which would allow them to pick and choose their desired stations.

This was discussed in another thread and it was mentioned by a few who sounded like they knew that user-specified packages of channels would only be available to users who bought a new, not yet available, radio.

However, they did also indicate that Sirius-XM-specified packages would be receivable on current radios.
