Just to ask what may seem like an obvious question but the lighter or the socket?

1st place I would start to trace the problem ~ fuse panel. You simply might have blown a fuse ~ located passenger side/under carpet against firewall.

Been there, done that (with a different vehicle). It was the fuse for me. Had a POS radar detector that shorted out the cigarette lighter socket. Try plugging in any 12V thing (like a portable air compressor). If it doesn't work in your Vette, but does work in other vehicles, you have your answer (the fuse)....

Yes they are. If both are not out, it isn't a fuse issue. Have you had any work done or have you replaced the center surround? The connector may have come loose.

Yes I agree, it could be the socket connection.

Had the same problem with my 2005 C6 and a blown fuse was the 1st thing I found. Replaced fuse and my phone charger worked great so I next tried the lighter again and pop the fuse blew again. So a trip to the dealer was in order thinking I had some issue with load/amperage on the circuit but it ended up being the wrong lighter for the car. With this info in hand I asked if the unused lighter from my 2005 GMC Jimmy would work. The dealer told me its the same part # so I saved myself $20. So now all works as it should.

You might want to check the Cigarette Lighter Fuse.
Despite what you were told earlier, the Cig Lighter and the Aux Power sockets are NOT on the same circuit.

See below:

This happened in my 07,blowing fuses, turned out to be the socket not the lighter.Fuse would blow as soon as I connected wire to socket. Got new socket from Gene Culley and all is good.

Thanks for checking that in the manual. I looked at the system schematic too quickly last night. I spotted the fuse #33 which is in line from the powerblock but missed the fact that the two outlets split off to their own fuses.

As indicated above the aux power outlet and the cigarette lighter are in fact each on their own fuse. My mistake.
