Weight difference between stock C6 manifolds and Z06 manifold
Question for all you gearheads that have swapped out the stock C6 LS2 exhaust manifolds for the Z06 exhaust manifolds. Is there any weight difference between the 2 and what are the Z06 manifolds made of? I have a complete set from manifold to mufflers coming hopefully in the next week and was wondering about polishing the exhaust manifolds a little before install. Anyone ever done this and how did it turn out? Pics please if so and what did you use to polish them. I tried a search and so far came up with nothing on this. Thanks Steve

I used emory paper and water, progressively getting finer. Then used a polishing head on an electric drill, with rubbing compound, finally used polish.
You'd have to use a scale to determine a significant weight difference.

those look nice, what grit did you stop with before polishing and what rubbing coumpound, regular automotive type? Do you have these on the car and how are they holding up with the finish, thanks

I gotta ask though why wouldn't you just get a nice set of long tubes? They would add much more power and give you that awesome unique long tube sound. Now if you got a good deal on the Z06 manifolds then I would understand.
