Default Is it just me...?

or is every thread turning into an advertisement for some company? Someone can post a question about the C6, and then all of a sudden it becomes an advertisement for some dealer.

It is really getting out of control. Some of it even seems "staged". Someone will post, "how can I add HP for low money", then the advertisement begins....

Not really. It is the company posting ads on every thread and turning every thread into a commercial for them.

I agree that sometimes it gets a bit obnoxious but at the same time the Vendors can often offer the best advice so its kind of a double edged sword.

I don't mind them advertising but now they are entering every post and turning it into a commercial. You can post a thread about driving your C6 cross country and then before you know it they make the thread into a commercial.

In the end, it will backfire and people will start posting and visiting the forum less and less.

I agree. It's great when a vendor can add some needed info regarding the topic at hand, but just to make a post...."Contact XYZ Horsepower for more info on how we can help" doesn't help the tread, or answer any questions asked.

And why not? That's what the forum is all about, knowledge.

Someone will post, "how can I add HP for low money?", and then the intelligent, experienced pros and the folks that have been there, done that show up with the answers that someone is looking for.

People aren't really looking for unfounded opinions like...

A car running fast vs a car that has HP claims, are sometimes world apart. One only needs to attend a car show and see displays of guys who boast of 600HP. When you ask them what the car runs in the 1/4 mile, they have no clue because they never ran it at the track. Hence the term, "dyno queens".

Real world requires taking it to the track for a lot of test and tuning. Not spinning on a bunch of rollers inside a shop on a dyno machine that can be manipulated by the programmer.
Like some how real world, measurable horse power and torque increases are going to have 0 benefit on quarter mile track times.
