Z Frank Chevrolet Now Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Chicago

Drifting
Mike Anderson Chevrolet has purchased Z-Frank Chevrolet.
This is now the only Chevrolet dealership on the entire North Side of Chicago located at 5301 W Irving Park Road. And to my knowledge this may be the only Chevy dealership in the entire city of Chicago.
I purchased my 09 from Z-Frank back in September. Of course I was very concerned with a new ownership. But, I have met Mr. Anderson and found him to be a very nice guy and a very proactive owner. Seeing a owner in the service department for the first time in my life was nice to see a owner that is concerned about his entire dealership. I have also been impressed with his knowledge and commitment to Corvettes.
Mike Anderson also has a dealership in Merrillville Indiana.

Er, I think it was Fahey Flynn and PJ Hoff. PJ made the "Vice President in Charge of Looking Out of the Window" a part of Chi Town lore.

What ever happened to NICKEY CHEVROLET? They were the place to go to for anything that Chevy had for high performance and there motto was Nickey Chevrolet spelled with the backwards "K".

Western Ave Remember
On Western Ave, between 53rd and 67th Street, these were the car
dealers: Hollingshead Oldsmobile, Gage Chrysler/Plymouth, Bens Auto
Sales, Bowers Dodge, Burke Ford, Mike McCarthy Mercury, Tony Piet
Pontiac and McManus Chevy.
In the 1960's we would ride our bikes down to these car dealers and go and look at the new cars. The dealers would put strips of kraft paper across parts of the front windows so you would have to come inside to see the whole car.
How times have changed.

Here's old, I can rememder taking the "El" to Wrigley Field to watch the bears play. The coach bodies were wooden around a steel frame, no a/c ! Also remember the trolly cars. My mom would take me for rides on them.

Some more 1960 info
All of my friends liked cars, we could tell each year and model of car.
In our neighborhood if someone bought any new car (even if it was
Chevy Biscayne, 3 speed on the column no P.S, P.B., blackwall tires
and no radio) they were SPECIAL because they had a new car.
Other 1960 Chicago info:
-Larry Lujack, Dex Card (Silver dollar survey) WLS radio 890
-Marvel Radio, 66th and Damen for "reverb" put on your radio
-Warshawsky/J.C. Whitney Auto Parts ARcher and State ST.
-****** Dyno Tuning 125th and Western Blue Island
-Mr. Norm Grand Spauling Dodge Muscle Car Dealership
-JIm Moran the Courstesy Man Ford dealership I believe was the first
dealer to be open on Sunday. He started it and it lasted for a long
time, now the dealers are closed on Sunday. He was given a few
years to live because of a illness, moved to Florida, regained his health
and got involved with Toyota and became very successful with Toyota.

Someone still has that name. As Nickey puts on the Vette Fest in Rosemont now just once a year. If it is the same people or not I'm unsure. But, I do know back in the day that was the place to buy Chevy's.
