correct thread size oil drain plug 2007?
i got a new plug from zip products. at first i got a non magnetic drain plug and on top of the bolt reads 5.8
i told them that i ordered the magnetic drain plug and they immediately sent me the replacement. this time it was magnetic but on top of the bolt reads M12-1.75.
are these thread sizes? what is the correct size for a 2007 C6 Coupe?
what's the difference on the 5.8 and M12-1.75?
also the stock drain plug uses 13mm socket but these two new ones uses 15mm.
i'm worried I may have the wrong size of plug and might damage the threads on the oil pan. any advise will be appreciated.
also both plugs (non magnetic and magnetic) were both labeled with the same part #OP-161, 96l-09 Magnetic drain plug/ J20405Z. I already sent them an email to clarify it.

First, you are going to screw the plug in by hand so if the threads aren't right, you will know immediately. The 5.8 is a strength rating of the bolt, the M12 is the size and pitch.
The size of the bolt head can be different with no effect. If it feels fine when you screw it in by hand, then just use a wrench to tighten and you're set.
