i like it.. but it's still not going to be as unique as the '96 grandsport.... and i'll bet they flood the market like they did in '03 with the 50th anniversary model....

Looks great... but looks like the badge is extremely integrated into the fender which is bad for those who want to put the fenders on non GS cars.

EDIT: I'd like to see Torch Red in the sun... looks washed out in those pics.

Basically a Z06 without the 505hp motor and cheaper. Great, this'll really help Z06 re-sale values!

GM finally gives lots of OP's what they've whined and sniveled about for the past 4 years.. a WIDE BODY vert, targa with a slush box! What's the problem? People have been spending big money on the conversion and it's been great for after market parts and paint sales. So GM finally took the hint and attempting to cash in. I personally think it's a GREAT idea and hope they sell a ton of them! I want the vette around for a long time....

This is going to come down how badly someone wants the Z06 look for their car! If it's to close in price to a Z06 I simply wouldn't buy one.. I'd buy a Z. However lots of OP's can't or won't handle a manual trans and others want the open top (like me). At least give GM credit for listening to the buyers! I think the car looks great and will be a real eye catcher with that WB look. Bigger tires, better brakes and dry sump (for some) is also a nice touch. I simply don't understand why people are attacking this one? It's EXACTLY what many have said they wanted. So you bought one right before this came out you say? Well to bad cause the only constant in life is change.

I don't have the WB look on my 06 and refuse to spend that much money in after market to do it. If I was buying a new vette (I'm not) I'd certainly consider the GS if the price is reasonable. It's very cool looking to me just like a Z! I hope GM sells the heck out of this model.....

Yep... and ACI as well... no need for a hacked up quarter panel anymore or an aftermarket piece.

I really like the look of this and would seriously consider one if I was in the market. Still I can't help but think that GM is making a big mistake by offering only this and not the basic Z 51 package. A lot of folks would be willing to spend the extra $1695 for the Z51 package but are going to balk at what this is going to cost. I know we don't have prices yet, but I have to think it's gonna be a whole lot more.

I'm afraid it's this kind of fuzzy thinking that has put GM in the position it currently is in.

But hey, I'm just glad it isn't blue with a big white stripe down the center.
