Default Tire Pressure

Stupid question...
Just mounted new wheels, DIC states low tire pressure, added air and adjusted pressure but I see no change in DIC
do I have to take vehicle to chevy for a reset???

Use a good gauge to measure tire pressure, not the DIC. You must drive the car a ways before the DIC will update the TPMS tire pressure. It is nowhere near accurate enough to use as an inflation helper. It is only good to let you know when a tire has a leak.

( I'm assuming that you had the TPMS sensors moved from your old wheels to your new ones when the tires were mounted and that they remained at their same respective positions on the car.)

Mine all read 0 until I drove it a few minuets. They update around every hour when sitting with the engine off.

My wheels sensors and DIC reading are very accurate.

Most times you got to drive a bit to get those gizmos to send out updated info.

My Vette just came out of winter sleep and it took a few miles to get the right readings.

FWIW I bring tires to 40# when I winter store and then used a good handheld gage to set to 30#s.

wheels were removed from other C6 together with tires and TMPS and installed on mine

You need to re-register the TPMS sensors to your car. Any good tire company or your dealer can do this. Until you do this, your tire pressures in the system will be erroneous.

I'm not clear from this statement what actually happened, but to make it simple: If you still have the same TPMS sensors on your car that were on the car before the wheel swap, and they are still in the same positions on the car, then they do not need to be re-registered to the car. They are still registered to the car and the car just needs to be driven. If you have different TPMS sensors on the new wheels, then they need to be registered, as the car is still looking for the old ones.

I have swapped wheels before and reused the sensors in the exact same position. All was well after about 3 minutes down the road.

Altitude will screw up the DIC readings. Mine are about 10% off so I keep mine at 27 psi during the spring summer and 28 psi fall. Both of my gages read 30 psi when the DIC reads 27 psi.

Got new tires and wheels had to get tires re-learned by using a tool made for that. Don't know if Discount Tires are a sponsor, but they did the job for me in about 2 minutes.
