What is the Normal Battery Voltage on your DIC?
I recently replaced my battery and noticed the voltage varies from 13.7 to 14.1 volts. Does it charge when the RPM's increase like a generator or when at low RPM's like an alternator? I rev it and notice no difference in the voltage.

The way an alternator works, at idle 600 engine rpm the output might be say 20 amps max. for a 100 amp alternator, but at 2000 to 2500 engine rpm you could get full output at 100 amps. If you ever had a car running at idle at night with all the electrical power devices running the alternator might not keep up with the electrical demand so your voltage will drop to the battery voltage say 12.5 volts. If this load condition continues you start to discharge your battery. Finally getting to the point where nothing works and the car can't start. BTW the alternator is usally running at 2.5 times engine rpm so in the example above the alternator is turning at 1500 at idle and 6250 at 2500 engine rpm.
