I don't care who makes it or what it costs, most of these filters keep out birds and small rocks. It ain't that critical!

That's the same one I bought for about $11 too. Ac delco wants $80 for the same thing. Installed it back in the spring, and no problems since. Well at that price you can replace it every spring for cheap.

I'm gonna try to pick one up at Advance Auto this weekend, hopefully they'll be in stock, that's a good price.

The Purolator is indeed carbon impregnated and is a solid filter. I did an expose on it here:

Replaced mine at Auto Zone for $10.95 (I think) last year.

Serviced my cabin air filter after 5,900 miles. It was very clean and just a simple tapping and vacuuming restored it to like-new. I'll buy the Purolator element when I replace the stock element.

I called AAP and they told me it was 11.48$ - however, i told them that i seen this on their website and then they priced matched it.

So, I got it for 9.48$ + tax

I think I saved about 68$ with this move. I also read that a lot of folks on this forum use this AAP air filter and have no issues with fitment or anything.

just FYI in case you need new air filter - 9.48 at AAP.

Take care
That's crazy $79.00 It's the same filter. Works the same. It's like you buy a headlight from a dealership for 30.00 then you find that very same headlight at wallyworld for $10.00 made by Sylvania who makes the same one for that car make except it has Ford or Chev. on it.

I'm sold! I'll be picking one up at Pep Boys today. I must have picked up a bunch of junk last time I went through southern Utah.

Just kidding, at least you can't see the air you breathe.

I drive with my roof off a lot but with temps hitting 100+ in the summer and speed limits on the interstate are up to 80 now in Utah in some areas I'll have the windows up at times. Then there are those "cool" cruises where temps around around freezing or below.

Went to local AutoZone store and they didn't carry any replacement cabin air filter for my 2005 coupe.

Next, went to CarQuest and they had their own brand. It is a carbon air filter and looks exactly like the OEM I replaced except for the aforementioned arrow. This one, like the Purolator, has an arrow which indicates air flow, not Top. Cost approximately $18. Perfect fit.

As long as it is clean and new. They will all work the same.
The ones for $79.00 will not work 8 times better than the lowest cost aftermarket brand.

I went to both Advance Auto and CarQuest today in Niagara Falls, NY but neither one had them in stock - I guess there aren't that many Corvettes there

Pay the money and change it, Mine at 30k seemed pretty dirty
plus the air was fresher after the change.

I wonder about claims that air filters filter out allergens and bacteria. I think it is just a reason to sell them for more.
