Yes, Millenium Yellow was a limited production color and it was discontinued and not available after 2005. There were 2,002 total (1,646 coupes and 356 convertibles) produced before the color was changed to Velocity Yellow during the 2005 model year.

True, the last 760 yellow vettes in 2005 were made in velocity yellow. I have a MY 05 vette also. Hold on to it, there aren't many (2002). If you want to upgrade past 2005 and you want yellow, you gotta go with velocity. If I were to change and get a different color, I would get the Jet Stream Blue. I still love my millennium yellow, though and don't plan to get rid of it any time soon.

any thoughts on if it will become a collectors car because of the limited produced or at least hold its value better...not sure how popular yellow is in the grand scheme of things...

I'd like to believe that number, and no disrespect intended, but surely that's not right. Pipe and I were both at Carlisle in '05; what are the odds of half of the total production being in the same place at the same time?
hehe... I think the Museum dome must be Millenium Yellow!

I just purchased a 05 Mill Yellow Vert, fully loaded with only 7500 miles. The only option it does not have is Z51. (has Mag Ride).
I understand there were only 356 verts produced in Mill Yellow in 05, but is there any way to determine how many of the 356 were equipped like mine? Probably a tough request, but it would be nice to know exactly how "rare" my specific car is.
Thoughts ??? ....
Thanks......

GM discontinued Mellenium Yellow because it was a base/tintcoat paint process and was and still is very expensive to produce, I recall that it was something like a $3,500 option just to get one in that color. I loved the color so much that when I bought my '99 vert in triple black that I soon had it redone in Mellenium Yellow. Cost me $7,000 but well worth it to me.
Here are before and after pic's
Yes, It's the same car...
