Default Smaller Steering Wheel?

I have an 09 C6. Are the D-shape steering wheels any smaller? What about the Z06 wheel? Finally, anyone know of a vendor that sells steering wheel spacers, to bring the wheel closer to the driver? I have a 1LT car, so no telescoping wheel, and I am basically about an inch away from reaching the top of the steering wheel comfortably when everything else is adjusted correctly. Other than that, the car is awesome.

Thanks.

All wheels = same size!
As for smaller wheels: There´s a guy here in Germany who fits any RAID wheel into your car -don´t know about spacers but if you want I can ask him...

All the wheels that you mentioned are the same size...in fact, they are all the same wheel. The D shaped wheel is just an OEM wheel that has been covered in leather. I have a D shaped wheel for my 2005 and it was an OEM wheel modified. For what it is worth, the 2005 wheel is actually a larger diameter than the 2006-2010 wheel.

You "Da Man" Thanks. Since I have an '05, can I "upgrade" to a 2006-10 steering wheel and how much smaller is the 2006-10 ?

I'm all ears

Cmon bro, I got a lt1 and I am only 5 7' ...what are you under 5 feet?
You gotta work the seat adjustment and keep playin with it and the steering wheel ...it will work. I couldnt find the magic either but I kept trying and I found it... No spacer crap..

Short answer, yes you can upgrade to the 2006- wheel. The long answer is that you will need to spend some money to do it. You will need the new steering wheel, a new airbag assembly that fits a 2006+ wheel and a new clock spring assembly. Out the door you will be somewhere north of $900.00 likely to make the swap.

I don't recall the exact diameter change...It is somewhere around 1/2"-1" I think.

I assume this was directed towards me. I am about 5-9 or so, and I don't think my reach is that bad. I think my overhand driving style may be to blame. I have lowered the steering wheel as low as I can and my leg hits it uncomfortably when I go for the brake. I really only find it to be an issue when I am trying to row the gears with my right hand and steer with the left hand on the top center of the wheel. I just don't feel as though I have complete control with just my left if I am driving at speed. I suppose I have to play with it some more, the car is still new. A smaller wheel would be ideal though, I could lower it a little more than I can now and it will also make the steering feel a bit heavier, which is something that would also be desirable to me.
