Remove 2009 OnStar Antenna & Fuses?
I'd like to remove the OnStar antenna from my 2009, I don't have the shop manuals yet and someone said it comes off differently than previous years. Does anyone know how to do it?
Also, I'd like to pull the OnStar fuse(s), are there more than one in the various fuse boxes?
Thanks.

The antenna is the same for all years. Sit in passenger seat and slide the black box the the right. With force it will disengage from the the windshield bracket. Then undo the two electrical connectors at the quick disconnects and the antenna is out of commission.

There is surely a cleaner way of doing it. Don't know about it on the 09.

The black box on the windshield has nothing to do with the GPS system. I pulled mine from an 05 for three years and in my 09 for the last 10 months and never heard any complaints from either car.

Thanks.
I found one 10a fuse for OnStar in the kick panel, pulled it and no issues. Has anyone found any others?

I believe it's just one fuse on my 09. I pulled it months ago and only found one caveat, bluetooth to cell phone is also gone. Oh well, it had to go as I value my privacy. OnStar called me one to many times asking me to push the blue button, very spooky while driving down the road to loose the music and hear someone telling me to push the blue button.
I thought about removing just the antenna but then the onstar module would just try and get the call up, a no service condition that would potentially draw from the battery even with the car off, so I just pulled the fuse. I am still wanting to remove the antenna, damn thing is not attractive IMO.

Hoping for an optomistic reply...

No optimistic reply - sorry.
Bluetooth is most definitely in the onstar module. It makes perfect sense to put it there. Pull the onstar fuse it's gone, put the onstar fuse back in place and bluetooth is back.

See the instructions in post #18 in this thread.
The module was moved to under the passenger kickboard, but other then that it should be similar.

Just pull the fuse. There is only one fuse. Honestly, no real need to remove the antenna. No power, no Onstar. Onstar is integrated with the VCIM (vehicle communications interface module) which is also the brains behind the bluetooth.

The antenna is in the way of where I want to mount the Valantine, so I'm going to remove it. Also, the blackened area where the antenna was located, helps hide the Valentine. Installation copied from another C6 friend.
