Default 03 viper vs ls2, ls3, and z06, how do they compare??

stock on stock how would a 500 hp viper compare to the 3 mentioned, i would guess it would beat the ls2 for sure, but the ls3 would be a closer race but the viper would still come out on top? please only people that know for sure post a reply not speculators.
ps this is in regards to 1/4 drag race.

my friend has a Viper, but it's not stock...still, stock for stock, it smokes the ls2, edges out the ls3, and loses to the z06, assuming equal drivers

I guess less than a 10% increase in HP is smokin in some peoples minds. Perhaps they've been smokin.http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/smile5.gif

For some peoples opinions, you missed one. Fixed above.

I'm happy with my slow LS2. Now back to the OPs question for any folks who know.

ok so does everyone agree that a stock for stock the viper would maybe pull a few car lengths over the ls2 then? drivers equal.

Thanks for the morning laugh. You make it sound like the LS3 can put several car lengths on an LS2. You should do some more research before posting nonsense!

That is a C5 Z06 not a C6 Z06. Two different animals.

As for the LS2 vs Ls3 vs Z06 vs Viper? Depends on who can get off the line without braking loose! I'll take a good driver in a LS2 over an average driver any of the other cars in a drag race from a stop!!

Everything else equal:
1st place: Z06, followed by the Viper, LS3 then LS2.

The ls-3 does put a couple lenghts on average on the Ls-2

That mag is full of brown stuff......I owned an 06 Viper coupe and it was/is faster than the LS3. It is close enough that the driver could sway the outcome but all things equal the Viper is a faster car.

I put zero confidence in any performance numbers posted by the mags.....lest we forget there was an LS3 vert recently in one of them that put up abysmal times.

The only other thing I saw published regarding a 2003 Viper was 1/4 mile time of 12.2 at 119+.

Come on! This is a Corvette forum. ANY Corvette, C1 through C6, will beat any Viper in the 1/4 mile!!!

Here's why........

The Viper is either towed to the track or driven. If towed, the vette already finished while the Viper is being unloaded...vette 1, Viper 0......If the Viper WAS driven to the track, the driver's reaction times would be so slow from being beat up that even a CHEVETTE would win!!!!!!
