Why No C6 Corvette in NASCAR Races?
How come NASCAR uses the Impala SS, Monte Carlo, Taurus, Camry etc, but there are no Corvettes? The only Corvette is the pace car. Why is the C6 Corvette not used in NASCAR?

I'm guessing it is because they are trying to sell a lot more "family" cars and the idea that race on Sunday, sell on Monday has been a great mantra for the auto industry in the past.

Probably because all of the cars that are racing are built to meet the same specifications. The Corvette body style simply would not be allowed under NASCAR Rules.
As far as engines go, well, they are producing a lot more HP than our Vettes.
Hope that answers you question.

All the bodies and chassis are the same. the only "identifying" is with the decal overlay. A Corvette would not fit the templetes and if you applied the decal it would look plan stupid on the large COT bodies

Corvette races at much higher class level .....
NASCAR would be a step backwards.

Drifting
NASCAR was interesting when all the cars in the race came from GM, Mopar and Ford assembly plants before being modified to run 220mph laps. Now all the cars are purpose-built to NASCAR specs. It's TV showtime folks!
