Default I need a pic of the Convertible position switches

I really don't want to go into what happened but I need a pic of the area under the uppermost B pillar trim just forward of the hydraulic pump that shows the bow position switches.

There are four switches in an area of about 6" radius. The 5 bow area pivot is right there with it. I want to say the manual calls them the SM7 switches.

My Mitchell or eSi disc doesn't seem to show a detailed area of how the switches are positioned or what they contact to be "Open" or "Closed". The top may have to be in the half up position to really see them well.

I can post a pic of the area if need be.

Thanks

If I don't have to take anything apart, and you can step by step me through what you need to see, I can do it for you now. My vert (09) is in the parking lot.

It will have to be an iPhone photo but i will get it as clear as I can.

Unfortunately the top "B" pillar cover (wherre the lid pops up when the top is up and the seat beat strap comes thru) has to come off the expose the area where the position sensors are and I would not ask you or anyone to remove the panel for this purpose althought I certainly appreciate the offer to get the pic.

I was hoping that out of all the Verts on here some one would have the area exposed and could get a shot easily.

I am checking with Helms onLine now to see if they has a repair diagram of the area.

Thanks again

I have a power top convertible and know exactly where the hydraulic pump is located and how to access that area. You want a picture of the switches? I am running out of daylight here and can probably snap a pic tomorrow.

Does this help?

I will be grateful. The switches are just ahead of the pump behind the upper B pillar trim and at the corner of the 5 Bow.

Thanks!

Unfortunately not. The area is a little forward of the shot.

Here is a pic of the area. Hopefully my circle shows up showing the position switch in all it's glory not able to make contact with anything. This position results in the message on the DIC " Top not secured" and does not allow the tonnou (sp) to initionally open with the top in the opening position and not allowing the tonnou (sp) to close in the top going down position. The more I look at it, It's either not it the right place of it's missing something.

Ok, let me look back behind the passenger seat tomorrow since the sun is now going down. I believe this area is behind the plastic near the seat belt.

I have a set of factory shop manuals on my '05 with power top.
On page 8-681 it shows power folding top limit switches replacement.

There is almost 150 pages of info in the manual relating to the folding top.

Do you have factory shop manuals on the car you are working on?

If not, surely someone in P'cola would have a set. Another idea is contact someone in the Pensacola or Miracle Strip Corvette club as maybe someone has a C6 convertible that can help you. If all else fails, I live in the Mobile area and I may be going to Foley tomorrow. I can take my manual and you could meet me and look at and copy the pages you need.
If you need to contact me just send me a PM.

I may have to break down and by some manuals. I have used GM's eSi on-line for just about everything up till now. I even tried haynes online to no avail.

I am always up for a road trip. I'll send a PM to get details. I certainly appreciate the offer.

Sanford, Pleasure meeting you and the wife today. I'll let you know how the top turns out. I am planning on getting on it in the morning if it's not raining.

Ya'll have a safe trip to Bowling Green.

What kind of problems are you having? I believe by the time I'm finished I will be a powertop master.
