Default Seat memory problems.

In the last 2 weeks my seat memory had dumped on my '07 C6 coupe. I have to reprogram both settings about every other time I start the car.

Anyone else have this problem or know a solution besides taking it in for repair?

Thanks!!

What are the symptoms you're experiencing? If the problem is that your driver's seat doesn't return to the preset position when you push the "1" or "2" button, the cause is likely one of the following:
  1. Pinched wire under the seat, possible due to being caught in the seat track
  2. Loose or dirty connector under the seat
  3. Defective memory module
For starters, access the connectors under the seat, then disconnect and reconnect them. If this corrects the problem even temporarily, the problem is likely in the connector(s) or a crimped wire. In such case, the dealer vshould be able to easily correct the problem permanently.

Several other things to try before bringing it in.

Disconnect the Battery negative for ten minutes, reconnect to let the car reboot and reset.

Another thing is to manually run your seat through all its front to back, up and down, all the adjustments and limits to reindex the seat.

Good luck!

Convair,

When "dumps" your settings, do you mean that when you press the recall preset button is (a) does absolutely nothing, or (b) does a bit but completely incorrect?

I'm not sure I am having the same symptoms as you-- for me sometimes my (05 manual) seat recall moves a bit (literally a bit). To make it work I have to move the seat a little manually, then hit the recall and it executes as usual.

I have no idea why it does not work 100% of the time, but the workaround has worked.

No matter which of the 3 buttons you push, it doesnot move. It was in the full back position from exiting, but when any button is pushed, it stays full back.

Thanks!!

Mine started doing this about a week ago. The car is MN6 so I have to manually press the seat recall button every time after I get back in the car from a completely retracted easy exit.
the problem is now that the seat will move, but to a different position every time. It has a mind of it's own
It had worked flawless up until last week.
It will allow me to reset the memory but apparently does not remember it. The weird thing is that the easy exit memory setting is always remembered correctly .

Really old thread.
If you set everything the way you want and hold down either button one or two it will remember everything including the way your radio is set. You must have set it originally with the radio off and that's what was saved.

If you set the radio the way you want it and hold down the memory button until it beeps it should save the radio settings. It's supposed to anyway.
