If you take the car out, where it is open. Keep the radio on for about 15 minutes for it to pick up the signal. That is their instructions. I have never had to wait the full 15 minutes. Maybe just a few.
You can also go on line with your radio ID#, and have the signal refreshed.
Hope that helps.
You can to their web site. www.xm.com

There is a separate XM pamphlet that comes with the car. If you don't have that then maybe try XM online to see if they have any instructions. Basically you use the radio's "band" button to tune to XM1 or XM2, you can have different presets on each. Then it's just a matter of tuning to a channel you want.

Do this: http://refresh.xmradio.com/
I have had XM on probably 6 different radios, and it has never loaded the first time they activated it.
Park the car outside, do the refresh, should be good to go within 15-20 mins.

Just a tip... Make a note of the date your XM service ends, and be sure to renew or cancel BEFORE it expires. Otherwise, you may end up renewing "automatically" at a much higher monthly rate. XM is a decent product, but some of their customer service practices leave you scratching your head.
And for anyone who cares, I just got the $77/year XM offer in the mail yesterday. The offer code is XCEB11WV. Odd, but this is the same code for the "$19.99 for 5 months" offer they sent me 3 weeks ago...

Pay attention to Top Fuel above, He is correct. They get you into an inexpensive promo and then at the end of that promo automatically get you into an expensive program...
