Default Anyone using this shift ****?

I'd like to upgrade the stock shift **** in my '08 but find there are very few options that are a direct bolt-in replacement. This one is. Anyone using it? If so, does it get hot and how is it during shifting? The product description claims it won't get hot because of how it's made but it is billet aluminum. The design makes me think it might be a little tough on the palm. Just wanted some info before I spend $80. Thanks
The new **** arrived today. It's in!

Looks like it would get uncomfortable, but I guess there is no way to know without first trying it.

In AZ during the summer months you'd have to have an oven mitt handy for shifting with that bad boy.

if that thing's made of alum. and in any color but esp. black, sitting in the sun....Ha! not only wouldn't I touch, I couldn't!

I like the design but for shifting gears my opinion is it would eventually (or quickly) get to be a trial of how tough your right hand palm could become. looks great tho if that counts for something.

Consider upgrading to an MGW shifter and you'll have more choices for a shift **** (and a MUCH better shifter also).

I have one on my 2008 Callaway with the Callaway short throw shifter. I like it. I live in PA, not AZ and I haven't had any issues with it getting too hot to use; it will get warm when you shut down...the fins are there for air cooling. When is does get warm, it cools very quickly once you get moving. I think its comfortable and looks good to boot! Good luck.

PAVette,
I have the same Callaway shifter, installed it three weeks ago. As you know, it takes the stock shifter **** so that's why I need one that is a direct replacement. Thanks for your feedback.
I checked out the Corvette Garage but their race shifter will not fit the '08 because it doesn't have threads.
Thanks for the replies.

The new shift **** arrived today. Photos attached above. I'll know how comfortable it as after a weekend trip to Maine.

Beautiful piece of machined aluminum. I would expect nothing less from Elite Engineering.

However after it's been sitting in the sun, it would probably leave grill marks.
