I have a 2007. I thought it's a 3 year "Bumper-to-Bumper" warranty, and a 5 Year "Powertrain" warranty. End links aren't considered to be part of the "Powertrain", right? Wouldn't the dealer refuse this as warranty work after 3-5 years?

I have a 2007 and they replaced all my end links just today - under the warranty. But then the warranty we have (the bumper-to-bumper part) was extended to a full 5 years at the time of purchase (new.) I'd have to look up the paperwork to know how/why this was the case but I'm not complaining

I'd ask if I were you.

The car is quite different now. I had just asked that they to check for any loose bolts/nuts, etc. while they had it on the rack for an oil change (I had been getting clunking noises now and then) and the next thing I knew I had new end links.

I had the differential fluid changed two years ago and haven't heard a growl or clunk at all.

Separate issue are the end links, which I just replaced myself for $90 [original OEM] but as stated in the beginning, I lubed them up thoroughly.

Since I installed them, the ride is much quieter, and no more clunks when going slow over bumps.

I hope the extra lube lets them last for a few years instead of a few months.....

Just replaced all 4 on my 2007 vert and magically NO MORE NOISE or RATTLES..!!!!!

Replace them with Moog-K750136, $24.97 each at Summit.

Changing sway bar end links is a simple job. Just jack the car up, unbolt the old end links and bolt on the new end links. It's about the simplest job I can think off doing on a C6. You should be able to change all four end links in about 30 minutes, and that includes jacking up the car. There are no secrets, tricks or surprises. Good luck :-)

I got some noise coming from the suspension and a visual inspection at a nearby shop said they could not find anything wrong. We hear the noise often although it is intermittent, but of course when the shop mechanic drove it they heard nothing. I am not good at working on cars, especially from the underside. I plan to pay a shop to do this work.

So I call a different shop (specialty shop CorvetteExpress in Vacaville) and ask for a quote to change them all. $520 plus tax! Seems a bit high doesn't it? Labor should cost more than the parts for this job? I can find the OEM parts for less than $200 at several different vendors.

I plan to shop around for a better price, hopefully I can get the whole job done for less than $400 OTD. What is a reasonable price for a reputable shop to do this job anyway? (I am in Northern California)

A set of 4 OEM sway bar endlinks is $128.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/281559655928

This is a job any beginner can do in under one hour. There is no simpler job on a C6 that I can think of. Even if you buy a HF floor jack and a beginners tool set you can do this for $200. Not to mention the satisfaction you will receive from the project.

Well that really wasn't the question. No shop is going to buy parts from ebay and I have no plans to attack this myself. I want it done by a professional.

Sorry... I was trying to be helpful and politely inform you that only a dumbass would pay $400 to have this done since it's easier and less complicated then changing the presets on your radio... but if you want to throw money at the problem you have my blessing... carry on...

It's a dealership and a bit of a drive but I hear they are very well regarded. Keeping them open for when the disaster subsides.

Dumbass = anyone too old, with a bad back or any other disability preventing them from doing such work (and for being so, deserve to be insulted rudely here for asking a simple question.)

Thanks but no thanks for your "polite" "help".

He must have been looking in the mirror.. Seriously though, I would just buy them on E-Bay and have an auto repair shop install them for you. It will be much cheaper than the Stealer.....

Some shops don't allow you to bring your own parts, but it's sure worth looking into. I will ask the shop I go to for most of my repairs and services.

Anyone have thoughts on using the aftermarket heavy duty end links? I think they are all metal with no rubber parts. Supposed to last longer...

Find a reputable shop that will be doing your oil changes. I bought Moog end links in December ($100). My tech will be installing them at the next servicing. I bring the parts and pay him for his expertise/facilities. I have enough stuff in my garage! Maybe $50-100 for the end links puts you way under the dealer price. Happy driving!

But wait. You said age prevents people from doing physical tasks. So how old would someone need to be before they couldn't even do simple things like change oil on their car? Just asking, so I'd know when I'm supposed to stop.

I already know that paying $400 ($125 parts plus $275 labor) for a 30 minute job by a $15/hr employee, won't be coming out of my wallet.

Not to mention if you get a pillow you can do the entire job lying on your back between naps and never even have to move except to go pee.
