Default Tire Question

About to put on my 3rd set of tires on my 2005 Z51. Last 2 sets have been the Goodyear Super car , but Im trying to save a few bucks . Im looking at the Firestone 245/40R18 & 19. Its about $500 cheaper. Anyone have any experience with the Firestone. BTW Michelin Pilots are the same price as the Goodyears.
Thanks

If you go with the Firestones, consider getting the road hazard insurance they sell at a pretty good price. The official Firestone policy is that a C6 runflat that was driven at all with less than 15 psi, is not repairable and should be replaced.

How many miles did you get out of each set? I just replace the two fronts with 15K on the odo. The rear set is not far behind. Gotta love those twisty roads around here, but 400 bucks a piece is not chump change. Almost makes me want to slow down and be more conservative. Almost. Well, not really at all. Fun is worth more than money. I can be conservative when they put me in the nursing home.

I got 15 000 mi out each set. Got a second flat in my rear runflats in 2 days!... wear bar is still slightly burried below the tread. Still shopping

Have you considered non-runflat tires? I know a lot of guys here are scared to use them but Ive had two sets and just keep a plug kit and a cheap cigarette lighter air compressor in the trunk area. Ive never had a flat. The non-runflats are considerably cheaper and perform better. Just my .02 though.

Almost everyone on here who has tried the Firestones has said good things. You might think about new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season...much lower price and longer wear...500 rating

I took the runflats off and put on BFG KDW II's. Much better traction, better wear, less noise.
