Be careful. Do it on a weekday. I went last year on the Labor Day weekend and there was close call after close call. BMW clubs, Mini clubs, motorcycle groups and even a bicycle racing team!

I'm going too! So excited I can't sleep. We will be running the Dragon on Monday to avoid the weekend traffic. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow. I'll be in the Cyber Grey Coupe.

It's a great run - did it a few weeks ago but beware of all the traffic here this week...it's unbelievable! We've had a ton of bad weather lately so drivers are everywhere clogging up the roads while it's nice - especially the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway is nice visually, but it's just not the same kind of driving experience as the Dragon...don't waste your time on the Parkway if what you want is a driving thrill, and there are LOTS of other good roads around here that compare to the Dragon...

go during the week and keep it between the lines. I cant count the number of times I've been scared ****less on that road by some jackass cutting over the yellow line.
I've never taken my car down there, but kind of always wanted to. That road rules on a sportbike though.
The cherohala skyway is also a really good road, but the speeds need to be a little higher than on the dragon. NC 28 is also really good from the dragon store.

Even during the week, it can be dangerous.
A friend and I spent a couple of days with our wifes in Gatlinburg this past week. Drove the corvettes on the Dragon Wednesday, and it was very crowded.
There are photographers taking pictures on some of the pull offs that post your pictures on websites that you can buy. I looked on one such website for my car and saw the following on the same day that I was on the Dragon. Thankfully, I didn't come across this in person.......

Been there.....done that. It is great, have a good time.
DONT CROSS THE YELLOW LINE
Of course you probably will, when you hit that corner too fast and it keeps getting tighter...... but is fun to drive the road with the mental concept of it being a single lane road.
Wave the superbikes by... there are going to go around you sooner or later, and in a more dangerous fashion.... this way you don't get caught up in an accident caused by them passing at the wrong time.

Well, We did it! Aw2esome Drive
We had over thirty cars! Even a ZR-1 was in the group! We had folks from the New Orleans area, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tenessee. I hope I didn't leave anybody out!
I never got a clean run due to local traffic, but I did approach one "G" on the G-meter. I felt the back end start to drift and the electronic nanny kick in. Top speed reached was close to 80 mph when I had to pass a Honda Civic that all but stopped in front of me. I really appreciate the Z51 suspension!
There were lots of bikers, but almost all were touring bikes and Harleys that were holding us up.
I got four runs in and my wife got one. She was awesome! She's pretty handy with a 6 speed!
I'm ready to go back!

All had a great time - some were better than others - you are correct scared you S_ _ _less - but driving all through the mountains was great
had one biker hit the wall - one of the guys with us saw him and said he did not look good, and then another went off the end -did not hear how he turned out.
But FiremanC6 is correct we had a lot of cars from a lot of areas and you should have seen the people on the streets when over 30 vettes came down the road,
