CHP is out of control! Got speeding ticket but for what!!
Got speeding ticket tonight for doing 70 in 65 zone on a freeway. You gotta be kidding me right. Copper said he was pacing me for more than a mile to get my speed. It was dark so i didnt see him till the last moment. You gotta be kidding me right? Who gives freaking ticket for 5 over the limit?? Never in CA! They should just get a real job and start stopping drunk illegals who drive without license insurance and registration...... I guess my rant is over now .....

The only people on LA freeways doing 70 (OK, make that 65) are the Prius drivers in the carpool lane. Everyone else goes 75 or more if traffic allows.

Oh well. Done is done. I say you should fight this. Good chance you get this dismissed claiming you were going with the flow of traffic. But getting a ticket for 5MPH over and its hassle still sucks.

I think "speeding" implies you were going at an unsafe speed. You were just exceeding the maximum limit. Going 66 in a 65 is technically illegal, but they do have to allow for speedometer error. I've never cited anyone for doing less than 80 on the freeway.

Live in AZ.. no worry..
couple of weekends ago was pulled over coming down from Pine Top to Mesa, just before Globe.. cop yelling in my window.. got me at 85 in a 65 zone before I went off his radar, and passing in a no passing zone (NOT! maybe pulled back in just as it started but NEVER pass in a NPZ!)..
Saw big dollar signs flying out the window.. cop comes back from his car, hands me paper, says next time I want to drive this good looking car like that, take it to the track and slow down cuz there are lots of us out there and we WILL get you, turns and walks away.. look at “ticket”.. got a written warning.. whoo hooo.. guess AZ don't need extra bucks to cover budget deficits..
